Elsie (エルシィ?) is a character released on the 2nd Anniversary of the Groovy Mix mobile game. She is a member of the group Abyssmare.
Profile[]
The self-proclaimed "Number 2" of Abyssmare. Despite her adorable appearance, she is fastidious and intelligent. Things like studying ballet since young and being unable to stomach cheap food make her seem like a young lady who grew up in the lap of luxury, but her exact family business remains unknown. She often fights with Weronika as they don't get along.[2][3]
Appearance[]
Elsie is a girl of a short stature, having white shoulder-length hair with blunt bangs partially tied up into two buns on the side of her head. She has large orange eyes with spiral pupils.
Background[]
Prior to joining Abyssmare, Elsie lived an oppressive life under her very influential father. She mentions she hated the fact that people bowed their heads to her, not out of respect but rather in fear of Elsie's father's influence and wealth. Two years prior to the events of side:nova, at a party, her father had invited Neo to sing in order to "promote the second coming of Aria," and Elsie became mesmerized by her because she glared and talked back at him. Elsie started yearning to be a person like Neo and decided to join her "in order to crush this boring world." Before she left with Neo and Mitsuhashi Sho, she blackmailed her father with a scoop picture of him and demanded him to just shut up and sponsor their unit.[4]

Elsie is regarded as the strategist of Abyssmare, relying on her connections to give her unit an advantage over others. Clever and sophisticated, she can be a snob and is quite snarky and jaded with a short temper.
Despising being looked down upon, Elsie hates being treated like a kid due to her young appearance and short stature. She carries an inflated sense of self and often belittles those she considers beneath her, usually to a humorous effect. She looks down on idealistic types like Miyu and frequently clashes with those she deems immature, namely Weronika and Michiru. But beneath her arrogance lies a desire to be acknowledged for who she is, outside of her father's shadow that made her feared by others. This is why she respects Neo and was even moved by Esora's sincere way of interacting with her, expecting her to have ulterior motives as she also comes from similar position of wealth.[5]
Following the events of side:nova and her transfer to Yoba Academy, Elsie begins to gradually grow out of her cynicism and become more open to experiences she once would have avoided, such as caring for a stray dog with Weronika[6] or going on a shopping spree at a discount store despite her distaste for cheap goods.[7] Though she may not always show it, Elsie is deeply loyal to Abyssmare and values her fellow members, even regarding their bonds as stronger than family ties.[6]
Befitting a wealthy young lady in a Japanese setting, she often uses extremely polite but archaic forms like "desu/nano desu" and "-sama" in her speech.

Elsie (エルシィ) is a name of Hebrew and Scottish origin.
Trivia[]
- The Japanese version of Groovy Mix initially showed her name as "Elcie", before it was fixed into the correct spelling.
- Elsie often has a hard time waking up in the morning and instead relies on Sophia to do it for her.[8]
- Though she dislikes cliche tropes, she enjoys watching superhero movies for the villains.[9]
- She has a pet white tiger at her parents' home named Byakko.[10]
