Haraguchi Riaru (原口莉亞瑠?) is a character in the D4DJ franchise. She is a first-year student at Arisugawa Academy and the General Affairs Clerk of the school's student council.
She was first introduced in the Arisugawa Academy Festival LIVE STAGE stage play.
Profile[]
Riaru is a freshman in Arisugawa Academy who has admired ladies and the high-class lifestyle ever since she was a child. She has excellent IQ and physical abilities, which helped her enroll in the academy, however because she usually keeps her presence low while at school, she hides these talents from everyone else.
Appearance[]
Riaru has violet eyes and white shoulder-length hair with violet hair streaks in the ends. She dons a black pin with a black ribbon attached to it on the side of her head.
Background[]
Riaru is a descendant of a ninja clan that has been around since the Sengoku period.[1] Her father allowed her to go and study in the city and blend into society, on the condition that she must absolutely keep her identity a secret, and if anyone were to find out her secret, she'd have to return home.
Personality[]
Riaru is an enthusiastic and honest (sometimes to the point of being brutally honest) girl who speaks in a very exaggerated manner and always becomes ecstatic while around the ojousamas she admires. She is especially fascinated about the relationships between ojousamas, which she cites as being her main reason for enrolling in Arisugawa Academy. However, because she has been obsessed with ojousamas since she was young, she has rather comically admitted to being indifferent towards everything else. Riaru also has a tendency to ramble on and reveal things she shouldn't when she gets excited.[2]
While she has outright admitted to having no idea on DJing and other pop culture, prior to Michiru and Lumina demonstrating it to her, Riaru is revealed to be a big fan of Call of Artemis.[3]
Abilities[]
As a decendant of a ninja clan, Riaru is shown to be skilled at various ninjutsu. One example is that she intergrated into Kuon Ayumi's shadow, and emerged from it later to stop Ayumi from killing herself.[4]
Etymology[]
'Haraguchi (原口) can be split into two parts. Hara (原) means "field" and Guchi (口) means "mouth, opening."
Riaru (莉亞瑠) can be split into three parts. Ri (莉) means "white jasmine", A (亞) means "rank or follow," and Ru (瑠) means "lapis lazuli." If one write her name in katakana, it spells out the word Real in Japanese.
