Inuyose Shinobu (犬寄しのぶ?) is a character in the D4DJ franchise, and is the DJ of the group Peaky P-key.
Appearance[]
Shinobu is a petite girl of average height. She has short, straight pink hair and with light yellow tips that reach down to her shoulders. A majority of her bangs are pulled back with a barrette. Her eyes are of a golden color, described by Nagisa as identical to her own.
Description[]
Shinobu is the DJ and strategist of Peaky P-key, the most popular DJ unit at Yoba Academy. She and Kyoko are childhood friends, and they have a strong trust in each other. A very skilled DJ, also excels in remixing and track-making. She's a big name in the world of online games, which also serve as her hobby. She is a very picky eater, and her diet is that of a young child. She is very arrogant, but has the most common sense in the unit.[1]
Personality[]
Although Shinobu may appear to be a prickly or closed person, she can actually be quite friendly and reliable, especially if she knows the person she is talking to. For example, she made friends with the girls from Lyrical Lily without any particular problems, although their image or aesthetic was noticeably different from Peaky P-key's. At the same time, she can often be quite irritable when it comes to her pride, but this never becomes too problematic.
Because of this, when Shinobu shows her tsundere side, it's usually due to either her embarrassment due to other characters' overreaction, or her unwillingness to appear less serious and mature than she wants.
Etymology[]
Inuyose (犬寄) can be split into two parts. Inu (犬), meaning dog, and Yose (寄) meaning to bring near or gather.
Shinobu (しのぶ) has no meaning as it is, but there are two possible meanings. 偲ぶ, meaning to recollect or remember, or 忍ぶ, meaning to hide.

- Shinobu's favorite type of game is FPS, and often boasts that she is unbeatable in the genre.[2]
- She is also a big fan of the Monster Hunter series.[3]
- Shinobu uses the pseudonym "DJ Kunoichi".[4] Kunoichi (くノ一) means female ninja. In the past, she used the pseudonym "DJ Shinobin" - a name she regrets, as shown in one of her in-game dialogues with Nagisa, where she starts panicking after Nagisa mentions the name.
- In D4DJ First Mix, it is stated that Shinobu has won Yoba Academy's Remix Contest, dubbed "RemiCon", 5 times.
- Her family owns a dog called Hanzou.
- Shinobu is a big fan of the Quintessential Quintuplets series.[5]
- According to All Mix, Shinobu has a very hard time with the cold, so during cold weather she tries to stay warm as much as possible and limit her time outside. At the same time, this sometimes puts her in awkward situations, as good warmth and comfort quickly put her to sleep.
