Kasuga Haruna

Kasuga Haruna (春日春奈?) is a character in the D4DJ franchise and is a member of the group Lyrical Lily.

Profile[]

With her serious and earnest personality, she volunteered to be a part of the Student Discipline Committee, but always gets roped into trouble because of her good nature. She pretends to not hold any interest in DJ activities, but she can't hide her love of audio equipment which she learned from her father.[2][3]

Appearance[]

Haruna has long, straight, maroon hair that reaches down to her back, with parted side-swept bands. Her eyes are a brownish-gold color.

Personality[]

As a serious and responsible person, Haruna is often the target of Miiko and Kurumi's pranks, as well as other awkward situations. While she often reacts or attempts to react to this as a straight man, it often leaves her defenseless, especially when it comes to Miyu or Aoi, people she admires passionately. Even though she has her no-nonsense and disciplinarian tendencies, Haruna is a sincere and kind girl who is always willing to help out the people around her.

Etymology[]

Kasuga (春日) can be split in two parts. Kasu (春) meaning "spring" or "springtime" and Ga(日) meaning "sun, day".

Haruna (春奈) can also be split in two parts. The first kanji, 春 (Haru), is the same one from her last name. Na (奈) translates to "but", "how", but it also could mean "bear" (to bear), "stand" or "endure".

 

Trivia[]

  • Haruna is the tallest member of Lyrical Lily. Coincidentally, her voice actress is also the tallest member of the live unit.
  • Haruna started DJing using analog equipment and admits that she's not fully used to modern DJ equipment yet.[4]
  • According to one of her menu dialogues and her Dig Rank Character Stories, Haruna is skilled at taking quizzes, whether they be academic or pop culture-related.
  • She has a fear of heights, which extends to airplanes[5] as well as tall rides such as carousels and ferris wheels.[6] She is most comfortable traveling by train.
  • Haruna is familiar with various anime and manga, apparent in the several in-game collaborations she's been involved in. An example of this is in Aoi's card story, where she received a head pat from Aoi and associated it with a shoujo manga archetype. She is also a fan of the Quintessential Quintuplets series and claims she got hooked into the series after reading a volume she had confiscated from a student.
  • Haruna is affiliated with a tea ceremony club and she often invites outside members to attend their tea parties.[7]
  • She is often called "いいんちょ/Iincho" (or chairwoman in English) by her peers, which she blatantly denies, as she is merely a member of the disciplinary committee.
  • Haruna has bad eyesight and she uses contact lenses while outside. At home, she always wears glasses.
  • In side:origin -Lyrical Lily-, she goes with the title "Always Mad Haruna (怒髪天の春奈?)".[8]
