Maeshima Ami (前島亜美) was born on November 22, 1997 in Saitama, Japan. She was the former voice actress of Niijima Ibuki and a former member of Photon Maiden.
Biography[]
Ami's career began on June 12, 2010, when she passed avex's idol audition and became a member of SUPER☆GiRLS. Ami was appointed as their leader in 2016. In 2011 she won the 53rd Japan Record Awards Newcomer Award.[1]
In 2011, she started taking on solo activities in parallel with the SUPER☆GiRLS activities, releasing exclusive modeling and solo photo collections for Pichi Lemon, performing in various TV dramas, and filming commercials. She has also performed in various musicals since 2015.
Ami graduated from SUPER☆GiRLS on March 31, 2017, and joined Avex Management in order to become a voice actress. She is known for voicing:
- Maruyama Aya in the BanG Dream! franchise.
- Yua in the Lost Decade video game
In September 2022, Ami announced she would be taking a hiatus from her activities due to "poor health".[2] On November 30, 2022, her contract ended with Avex[3] and it was announced that she would step down from her role as Ibuki.[4]
On September 1, 2023, Ami announced that she has recovered from her poor health and will resume her activities as a voice actress. She is now affiliated with VOICE KIT talent agency.[5]
