Togetsu Rei (渡月麗?) is a character in the D4DJ franchise, and is a member of the group Happy Around!.
Profile[]
Born into a wealthy family, Rei had lessons in all sorts of activities in which she showed the most talent at piano. She felt oppressed living the life her parents had prepared for her, but didn't have the courage to make a change. When she met Rinku unexpectedly, change began to brew inside her.[1]
Appearance[]
Rei has blueish-black hair and teal colored eyes. Her hair reaches down to her waist, and part of it is pulled back with a white bow. After the 3.0.0 update in Groovy Mix, her hair became curlier.
Background[]
She was raised in a strict family as its planned heiress. Her parents are teachers specializing in traditional Japanese dance and tea ceremony.[2] She had been busy learning piano as a child and did not have many opportunities to spend time with her friends.[3]
Personality[]
Rei is a modest, polite yet earnest girl who seeks to experience more ventures in life. Although Rei attends a fairly regular school, it has been shown through various activities, anime, and extras that her Yamato Nadeshiko skills are so high and developed that even highly educated and well-mannered girls like Haruna or Esora are impressed by her. For example, when Haruna needed someone as "perfect" as Miyu to gain communication experience and give her a present for White Day, other girls invited Rei to help her out.
Due to her classical upbringing as a "perfect lady", Rei was often deprived of some of the usual experiences for a girl of her age, so she is often quite flustered by things that seem completely ordinary to others. So, she becomes excited about the idea of having a sleepover with Muni or Maho, and also perceives playing video games, eating fast food, staying up late while eating sweets and even building snowmen with everyone in Happy Around! and Lyrical Lily[4] as very bright events in her life. At some point, Muni even has to warn her that overindulging herself on chips and snacks can be actually harmful. Another instance is that she is unfamiliar with various technologies that Muni describes her as being from the "stone age".
Etymology[]
Togetsu (渡月) can be split into two parts. To (渡) means "transit", and Getsu (月) means "month" or "moon".
Rei (麗) means "lovely", "beautiful", or "graceful".

- Rei is noted to be skilled in songwriting, and the music Maho develops often stems from melodies created by Rei.[5]
- Rei's favorite artist is Katsushika Hokusai[6].
